How to Order Sunburst Box Pleating

Please read How To Order Custom Pleated Fabric before proceeding reading this page.

If ordering sunburst box pleating, the following additional steps are necessary for calculating and preparing your order. It is crucial to know that sunburst pleating is NOT pleated as continuous yardage. It is cut into half-circle panels and then pleated.

Step 1. Determine the required number of panels. Unlike sunburst accordion pleating, the number of panels required are determined by the style you are trying to create. Choose a photo from our gallery or provide one of your own.

Step 2. How much fabric needed. The amount of fabric needed is determined by four components:

  • The number of panels.
  • The width of your fabric.
  • The size of the waist.
  • The length of the skirt. Please note that maximum skirt length is approximately 10 inches less than the width of your goods.

To determine how much fabric you need, please email (info@internationalpleating.com) and provide the information requested above.

Step 3. Cutting. The panels must be cut before they are pleated. You can do this yourself or you can send the fabric to us and we will cut the panels for you. If you are a novice, it is not recommend that you attempt to pattern and cut this type of pleating. It is very complex. If you do not cut your panels to our specifications, it may compromise the quality of your pleats.  It may also cause your fabric to be useless for you desired project.
